How long does it take to get paid?

Payment is typically issued within 5 business days of receiving your device. We’ll send you an email notification once your device has been received and another email once your payment has been issued.

The following walks you through steps of the trade-in process when you sell your device:

  1. Once you’ve shipped your device in our postage-paid shipping kit or by using a prepaid label affixed to your own packaging, it generally takes less than a week to reach the processing facility.
  2. Next, the gadget inspector checks to make sure that the device you mailed in matches your quoted item’s description.
  3. Last, but certainly not least, you get paid! You’ll receive an email notification as soon as your payment has been issued, so please watch your inbox.

In total, from the day you ship your device to the day you receive payment can take up to 12 business days.

Helpful Tip: When you are ready to sell your device, just make sure you select the exact model, carrier and condition. This will ensure you get paid on time!

 

How should I prepare my device before I ship it?

You want your cash quickly, and we want to get it to you. Here’s how to prepare your device to make that happen:

Must Do’s

  1. Disable Anti-theft / Device Protection / Activation Locks

For Apple devices, turn off “Find my iPhone”. See how.

For Samsung, disable “Reactivation Lock”. See how.

For devices with Android 5.1, disable “Android Device Protection”. See how.

  1. Remove your device from your Wireless Account

When selling your device it’s important that it not be linked to an active wireless account. You need to call your carrier if any of the following apply

You bought the device under contract or a leasing plan from your carrier, and it has not been fully paid for

As per your contract you are required to return your device only to your carrier

You have outstanding balance on the wireless account

Your device was reported lost or stolen

When you call your carrier, ask them to remove your device from your account, so you can sell it. Here are the support numbers for the four major carriers:

We’d like to do of this for you, but only your carrier can deactivate your device so it can be sold. Skipping this step could result in a “Bad ESN” and delay your payment.

  1. Do not send additional items

Each order on UCellMobile has an offer only for one device. Do not send additional devices with your order, we will not be able to pay you any additional cash. Any additional devices, accessories etc received with your device are immediately discarded and recycled responsibly.

Include Accessories Only If Requested

iPhones and iPods – do not include any accessories.

Cell Phones – include the battery, not the charger.

iPads and tablets – include the charger.

  1. Keep your Memory Card / Sim Card

All memory cards, Sim Cards and data on your device are removed and destroyed, in keeping with privacy and security rules. We will not be able to return these items to you.

  1. Backup your data

Back up photos, contacts and other data you can’t live without. To protect your information all data on your phone will be wiped clean once we receive your device.

  1. Send your device before your offer expires

Offers expire 30 days after you place your order. Be sure to ship your device so it arrives before then.

  1. Keep an eye out for updates

We’ll send you emails about the status of your order including when you’re payment is on its way. Check your email inbox and the spam folder to make sure you don’t miss any updates from us.

  1. Lastly, and we can’t believe we have to say this..

We have systems that identify if a device is counterfeit, reported lost or stolen, or if you are not the rightful owner. Sending us such a device violates our Terms of Services and automatically cancels your offer.

Why haven’t I received any email updates about my order status?

Please check your email Spam folder, as there’s a chance email notifications have gone there and wouldn’t have showed in your inbox. Also make sure you entered the correct email address when placing your order. (If you made a mistake, please notify us immediately so they can correct it in the system.) You are sent email notifications throughout every step of your trade-in, and some are time sensitive.

What is PayPal and why should I use it to get paid?

PayPal™ is the fastest, easiest way to receive payment for your device. You don’t even need to have an account to select it as your payment method when placing your order; all you need is an email address.

Once your payment is issued via PayPal™, you’ll immediately receive an email notification letting you know that your money is waiting for you. You’ll then be asked to create an account and will be given a list of ways to withdraw the money, which include but may not be limited to, bank transfer, prepaid Mastercard or check*.

Can I sell my phone if it’s broken or the screen is cracked?

Yes! You’d be surprised how much money you can make for a device even if it is damaged (i.e. water damage, cracked screen, broken power port).  Think of it this way: Instead of spending your hard earned cash on phone screen repair, you can earn some extra cash by selling your broken phone! Even if your phone looks like the image below, you can still make a good amount of money.

Just be sure to mark the condition of your device as Damaged when you are searching for offers on UCellMobile.

 

How will I be paid?

You have the option to be paid by PayPal™, MoneyGram, or check. When you are placing an order on UCellMobile.com to sell your device, you’re asked to select which payment option you want during checkout.

 

How do I know what condition to choose for my device?

It is very important to choose the correct condition of your device so that the buyer knows exactly what to expect when receiving your item in the mail. Selecting the correct condition means you’ll get paid faster too. Here are the criteria for determining your device’s condition:

Flawless:

appears to be new out of the box

has absolutely no scratches, scuffs or other marks

Good:

powers on is fully functional, including all buttons and ports

has no cracks on the screen or body

Damaged:

does not power on

it has a cracked screen or body

t is not 100% functional

NOTE: If your device is cracked in half, bent or missing parts, it may be subject to a revised offer.

 

What if I disagree with the assessment of my device?

Your device will be checked to make sure it matches the model and condition of the device quoted for the order. If there are any discrepancies, you’ll be notified via email, so always be sure to check for email updates about your order.

We’re proud to offer a risk-free transaction, so if a revised offer is made, you’ll have seven days to accept it and be paid the new amount, or decline it and have your item returned for free.

“Find My iPhone” needs to be disabled before you sell your phone. If you don’t have access to your device or it will not turn on, you can disable “Find my iPhone” through iCloud. Here’s how:

  1. Using a desktop or laptop computer, go to iCloud and sign in to your account with your Apple ID and password. Use the same Apple ID and password linked to the phone you’re selling.
  2. Click “All Devices” on top center of the screen.
  3. Select the device you’re selling.
  4. A new window will appear displaying the device you selected. Ignore it and go to the next step:
  5. Back in the center of the screen your “All Devices” has now changed to the name of the device you’re selling. Click this name and a list of the devices will drop down again. This time you will see an “x” to the right of the device you’re selling. Click the “x.”
  6. You will be prompted to remove the device:
  7. Click “Remove” and you’re done.

How do I contact my buyer about my order?

You can find your buyer’s support email address on the buyer listing page, HERE. All buyers are required to respond to support requests within one business day. If you still need assistance after contacting your buyer, please feel free to reach out to us via email at admin@UCellMobile.com.

 

Why is the offer for my device lower than I expected?

We understand that it can be disappointing to see an offer that is lower than you expected- especially for an item you may have paid hundreds of dollars for. Can I cancel my order?

At this time, we’re unable to cancel orders. This is because your free, prepaid shipping kit or label is sent to you soon after placing an order on our site.

Your offer is valid for 30 days, so you’ll receive a few email reminders during that period, just in case you change your mind about sending in your device.

 

How do I deactivate my account with my wireless carrier?

The device is still active on the account (it’s receiving calls, text messages, etc.)

The wireless account has an outstanding balance

The device has been reported lost or stolen

When you call your carrier, tell them you want to remove your device from your account so you can sell it.
